Charles Douglas, PhD., MBA – My experience resides at the intersection of health outcomes, digital health, and business. My Ph.D. is in Health Economics, my MBA focused on management, and over a decade experience as an IT Project Manager in a FORTUNE 300 company. Currently, I am Chair of the Social and Economics Department at California Health Sciences University in Clovis, California. Courses I teach classes are in Pharmacy Management, Health Systems, Pharmacoeconomics, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. I have two main areas of research and development.
1) Evaluating the performance of healthcare products & services, and clinical performance. Recipient of the Rufus A Lymann Award, and the New Investigator Award for research measuring clinical performance. Both awards are from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
2) Developing technology-based product & services that meet the needs of patients, practitioners, and administrators. Founding CEO of an early stage mobile health firm at a major university with two of my students. Created courses that train healthcare students on the fundamentals of healthcare product development and follows the National Institutes of Health I-Corps™ training curriculum (Lean Startup method).
